I love this story! Last week, an employee at the Red Cross tweeted this, thinking it was going out via his personal account.
An easy mistake to make (and I have to admit, that I’ve made it, too, in a less visible way).
The cool thing about the story is how all parties handled themselves, the Red Cross with a sense of both responsibility and humor, and Dogfish, an awesome brewery who took the occasion as an opportunity to use their own social media following to raise funds for the Red Cross.
A great example of how to handle a minor crisis, namely, don’t freak out about it. People are human.
