Killer Book Marketing

The Information Diet is a new book by Blue State Digital co-founder Clay Johnson. It’s meant for anyone who’s ever felt paralyzed by multiple daily offers for $29 oxygen facials and naked kayaking or has worn out the fingerprint on their fingers typing on touch-enabled devices.

I haven’t read it, but I did sit up a little bit straighter when I saw the website.

The website presents the book not as a book, a product or a thing…but as a way of life, and, more importantly, something you can belong to.

It invites people not to read, but to “make the resolution.” It presents pictures of attractive and savvy people who have made the commitment to “The Information Diet.”

What I loved about this approach is that it’s filled with cleverness — it’s social, its irresitable, and its filled with faces and testimonials.

None of which really costs any money.

Just sayin’…
